Meet the Director
Dirk Reinecke, an experienced professional with a strong background in applied skills training, operations, and workforce development, leads Occupational Studies. With many years of hands-on industry experience, Dirk has developed a deep understanding of the practical skills employers expect and the challenges individuals face when entering or progressing in the workplace.
Throughout his career, Dirk has worked closely with people at all levels, giving him first-hand insight into the skills gap that exists between formal education and real-world job requirements. This experience shaped his belief that education should be practical, accessible, and directly aligned with employment opportunities.
Driven by a passion for meaningful skills development, Dirk established Occupational Studies to provide focused, job-ready training that empowers students with confidence, competence, and workplace readiness. As Director, he remains actively involved in course development and training delivery, ensuring high professional standards and real-world relevance across all programmes.
Dirk’s mission is to equip individuals with skills they can use immediately — creating opportunities for sustainable employment and long-term career growth.
About Occupational Studies
Occupational Studies is a career-focused Skills Development Provider (SDP) dedicated to equipping students with practical, job-ready skills that lead directly to employment and career growth. Based in Garsfontein, Pretoria, we specialise in focused, occupational and skills-based courses designed to help students enter the workforce faster and more affordably than traditional study paths.
Our approach is hands-on, relevant, and aligned with real industry needs. We believe education should prepare students for the realities of the workplace, not just theory. Our Curriculum is based on the programs of the Quality Council of Trades and Occupations (QCTO).
Our Experience & Approach

- Small-group training and individual attention. Using zoom or teams.
- Clear outcomes and workplace readiness programs using the QCTO curriculum
- Online training even after hours, including weekends, for our students
- Using the LMS to manage the Portfolios of Evidence (PoE)
